- Thon Ta Village
Extend the tour away from Hà Giang, to a quaint village with a population of only around 500 locals. With traditional stilted houses overlooking rice fields, the Thon Ta village is a place to visit to get a glimpse into the locals’ way of life.
- Hoang Su Phi
Left untouched, the land of the yellow-bark tree features rice terraces, the Chieu Thi peak, and ethnic villages. About 70km away from the city, it will take about two days to ride through the winding roads, making it an ideal place to visit if touring Ha Giang on a motorbike.
- Dong Van Karst Plateau
A UNESCO Global Geopark, it is over 500 million years old. Consisting of four districts of Ha Giang, a full day can be spent riding through the mountain cliffs on a motorbike.
The Ha Giang Loop
The Ha Giang Loop features beautiful mountains, limestone formations, rice fields, and rivers. Also known as the happiness road, the Ha Giang loop connects Dong Van and Meo Vac, passing through the Ma Pi Leng Pass. Spanning over 185 kilometres, the best way to tour this part of Ha Giang is to ride along its loop, starting from Ha Giang.
Ha Giang Motorbike Tour
Home to one of the best motorbike routes, those who are looking to rent motorbikes and venture the area should do it along the Ha Giang motorbike loop. Every riders’ dream, the Ha Giang loop will take you on a tour through Dong Van, Meo Vac, and then back. Ride through the mountainous areas, and if possible, stop by Meo Vac town’s Sunday Market where locals sell food and even animals.
Another spot that cannot be missed when touring Ha Giang on a motorbike is the Ma Pi Leng Pass. One of the most stunning roads in Vietnam, the 20 kilometres loop winds through rice terraces of Ha Giang that can be bypassed within an hour. As you ride further down East, you will get a glimpse of the largest valley and high mountainous areas.
