Explore Bai Dinh and Trang An

Located in Ninh Binh, Trang An and Bai Dinh, are two of the many sites to visit when staying at the protected UNESCO World Heritage site in Northern Vietnam.

Trang An – Bai Dinh has attracted many local and global travellers, especially during the spring season.  If you book a tour to Bai Dinh – Trang An with Incredible Vietnam, there are a few tourist spots that we will visit. Read on to find out more.

Chua Bai Dinh (Bai Dinh Pagoda)

11km Northwest of Ninh Binh, the Chua Bai Dinh complex, is an enormous Buddhist site that houses the largest Buddhist temple in the whole of Southeast Asia.

Scaling up to the top of the hillside near Ninh Binh, the pilgrimage stop boasts a 36-tonne bell, a 13-storey Phap Chu pagoda, and a giant Buddha. The Tam Quan gate is the majestic gate that everyone must pass when entering the pagoda.

Inside, there are several temples with architectural structures unlike any other. One of these temples is the Dien Tam The, the largest and grandest on the complex grounds.

If you are looking to tour Bai Dinh, try joining a Ninh Binh tour, which includes a trip to Trang An from January to March. This is because both the Bai Dinh Pagoda and Trang An hold the annual Lunar New Year Festival around this time of the year.

Tour Trang An and Bai Dinh

After walking around the massive pagoda complex, head to the nearby limestone cliffs and hike up the forest. When touring Ninh Binh and visiting the Bai Dinh Pagoda, you can consider visiting other destinations like the Mua Cave.

Another alternative would be to cruise along Trang An after your Bai Dinh tour. One of the best places to enjoy the turquoise waters, mountains, and water caves by boat, it will surely be a highlight of your trip to Vietnam.

Likened to Ha Long Bay, Trang An is a paradise in its own rights. Famously depicted in scenes of the King Kong film, you will be able to see the Trang An cave complex on your boat trip.

Go through the route that will cover the Hang Sang Light cave, Dong Toi dark cave, Nu Ruou Winemaking cave, and more as you tour Trang An after Bai Dinh.

Bai Dinh and Trang An have much to offer, especially if you are looking to spend 1 day to tour away from the capital Hanoi. Since Trang An is not quite populated by tourists as compared to Ha Long Bay, it is the perfect place to visit for a day trip.
